Around 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017, we detected a gas odor outside of the building. We immediately called NW Natural Gas, as well as the district’s maintenance and safety departments, to inspect the building.
The odor was due to a defective part near a gas meter. At 8:40 a.m., after completing its inspection, NW Natural gave us the all-clear to continue the school day normally and on time.
The school is safe and there is no ongoing risk. Repairs are being made to the part.
