March Madness is here and as always, that means, among other things, that the testing window for statewide testing is upon us. It actually opened March 5 and will run through June 8. Lincoln students won’t begin testing until April 30. That way, we can give them as much instruction as possible prior to the testing. We will send out grade-level-specific testing schedules to families in the near future. Please make sure your children get plenty or rest and good nutrition during testing. And as always, good attendance is critically important, especially this time of year. Students in grades 3-5 will take the Smarter Balanced Tests in Math and English Language Arts. Fifth grade students will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science, which replaces the Measurement of Student Progress. You can find more information about state assessments online at the OSPI web site. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
