November’s holiday tradition marks the time in which we, as a nation, celebrate a day dedicated to reflecting upon that for which we’re thankful—those people and those things that are most important to us.

It seems, also, an appropriate time to reflect upon that for which the Lincoln staff is very thankful—the parents of our students, who support our efforts in so many ways:

THANK YOU for spreading good news about our school. We have a dedicated, enthusiastic, and competent staff serving your children. They are asked to do a very tough job during some pretty tough times. Your kind and positive comments to staff, neighbors, and to other community members are more appreciated than you may realize!

THANK YOU for recognizing that in all of life’s jobs, there exists “the human factor!” When we, despite our best efforts, make mistakes, your understanding and continued trust are most important to us.

THANK YOU for being an involved partner in your child’s education—for listening to your child read, checking homework, and helping to prepare for tests. You really are the single most important factor impacting your child’s success in both school and in life!

THANK YOU for your time. We know that, in today’s world, time is one of your most valuable resources, yet you have attended school events and conferences, have volunteered, and have contacted us whenever you’ve had questions or concerns.

THANK YOU for signing in, wearing name tags, calling to let us know your child is going to be absent, providing up-to-date emergency phone numbers, and supporting us in keeping your child’s school a safe place.

THANK YOU for smiles on curriculum night (when, like us, you’d already put in a full day!), and for waiting so patiently, when you were third in line at the office counter. But, most of all…

THANK YOU for entrusting the most precious part of your life—your child—to our care and teaching!
