Parents and Guardians, thanks so much for coming to our Curriculum Night last week. We had more than 175 families show up with a total of 370 people. I am very proud of our turnout this year. I hope you found the evening fun and informative.

I am also impressed with how quickly our students have learned and re-learned routines and expectations. They are doing a great job of Acting Responsibly, Being Safe and Expressing Respect. Those are our ABE rules. Thank you for your ongoing support at home. I also want to thank everyone for following our pick up and drop off procedures. When adults stay in their cars in the turnaround and move forward when space allows, this creates for a much safer environment for our students. Please remember to pick up kids only on the right curb, so they don’t have to run between cars. Also remember to use cross walks when walking with children. This modeling will improve the odds that they will do the same thing when they are not with you.

When we have early release Mondays, Lincoln teachers are hard at work meeting in grade level teams, collaborating around 4 essential questions:

1) What do we want our students to learn?

2) How will we know they learned it?

3) How will we respond when they need additional help?

4) How will we extend learning when they already know it?

We also meet every Wednesday morning in what we call “Professional Learning Communities” to support student learning. It is hard work, but it is our goal to help all of our students learn at high levels.

As always, if you have any questions about anything at all, including what we are doing to help our students be successful, feel free to call or email.
