The turnaround area in the back of the school is for buses only. Cars are allowed to park in the back parking lot, but may not enter the turnaround at any time. There were safety concerns last year and after meeting with our school district resource officers, safety personnel and transportation, it was decided that the safest option for our children is to not mix buses with cars.

If you are dropping children off before school, you may either:

1)Park in the back parking lot and have them walk to the back courtyard area where the doors will be open at 8:30 OR

2) Park alongside the sidewalk on 44th Street and have them walk to the back courtyard doors

Bus Riders are dropped off on the curb along 44th Street. We provide supervision as soon as the kids exit the bus each morning, and make sure they enter the building safely.

Students arriving at school each morning, whether or not they eat breakfast at school, enter the building through the double doors in the courtyard on the north side of the building. Either an adult, or a student patrol, will be at these double doors welcoming students to school. Breakfast-eaters walk to the cafeteria to eat. Other students walk through the cafeteria and into the gymnasium to sit against a wall. Kindergarten students sit on the west wall. All others may sit with friends at any other wall. On good weather days, students will be encouraged to go outside through the doors in the gym to walk on the track and get some fresh air. They will be supervised by an adult.

Bike riders, walkers and car drop-offs enter the building through the double doors in the courtyard on the north side of the building – just like everyone else.

Breakfast is served in the cafeteria from 8:30 until 9:00. Students are encouraged to finish their breakfast no later than 9:10 so they can get to class on time. Students who arrive late to school are still entitled to breakfast, when needed. They simply need to let the office staff know that they need breakfast.

Our cafeteria and gymnasium is supervised beginning at 8:30. Students may not arrive at school prior to that time as there is no supervision.

Students who arrive after 9:00 should enter the building through the front door and proceed directly to their classrooms.

Students who arrive at school after the tardy bell rings at 9:10 must stop in the office for a tardy slip. Students can listen to the music playing in the building to know if they are tardy. The music stops once the tardy bell rings at 9:10. Parents who drop their student off at school after 9:10 must park in the parking lot and then accompany their student into the office to sign them in. This is a safety procedure so that the school can be sure that parents know when their student is late to school.

Parent Drop-off (all grades)

Parents may drop students off in the front turn-around, but must stay in the car since the curb is red. Parents who want to accompany kids to the office must park in a designated parking space.

Parents are not allowed to drive cars into the turnaround in the back of the school at any time. This area is reserved for small buses. Parents may park in a designated parking space in the back of the school, or on the street (not in the bus zone).

Parents are asked not to be on the playground at any time during the school day.

Parents are asked not to accompany students to classrooms in the morning. This can be disruptive to the learning environment.
